Salò is one of the most elegant town in lake Garda . All along the leafy promenade are cafes, restaurants, hotels and shops, interspersed with some unexpectedly attractive piazzas. Walking further south there are beautiful floral displays, as well as statues, small streams (to feed the ducks!) and some very attractive buildings leading to the main promenade.
Gardone : From the lake you can enjoy the view of many floral gardens and opulent villas that surround Gardone Riviera, its historic center dates from the middle ages and has both medieval and baroque buildings. Gardone has a lovely promenade normally decorated with flowers; it is an elegant and sophisticated resort with its warm climate and exclusive gelaterias (ice cream parlours), bars, restaurants, pizzerias and cafes. In Gardone you can also visit the beautiful gardens and former home of the poet Gabriele d' Annunzio , called "Vittoriale degli Italiani".
